Welcome to IGLOW Fellowship 2024. Whether you are a tech newbie or planning to advance your skills Python, R, SQL, or dive into machine learning and data visualization, you are about to embark on a transformative journey. With the Datacamp Iglow program, you will have the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to accelerate your social innovation skills and your chosen career track.

Let’s explore the various paths available on datacamp; Although there are about 18 career tracks, to make it easier to navigate, we’ve classified the career tracks into groups based on the problems they solve and how they solve them;

1. Data Analysis and Visualization; Extracting meaningful insights from data to inform decision-making.

Data analysts use various tools and techniques to clean, process, and analyze data. They create visualizations and reports that help businesses understand trends, patterns, and correlations.

Career Tracks:

• Data Analyst with Python
• Data Analyst in Tableau
• Data Analyst with R
• Data Analyst in Power BI
• Associate Data Analyst in SQ

Example Project: A data analyst might work on analyzing customer feedback to identify common pain points and suggest improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.

2. Data Science and Machine Learning; Building predictive models and algorithms to solve complex problems and drive innovation.

Data scientists and machine learning scientists develop algorithms and models that can predict outcomes and automate decision-making. They work with large datasets and use statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and programming.

Career Tracks:

• Associate Data Scientist in Python
• Data Scientist in Python
• Associate Data Scientist in R
• Machine Learning Scientist with Python

Example Project: A machine learning scientist might develop a model to predict customer churn, allowing a company to take proactive measures to retain customers.

3. Data Engineering; Creating and maintaining the architecture that allows data to be collected, stored, and accessed efficiently.

Data engineers build and optimize data pipelines and databases. They ensure that data flows smoothly from source to destination and is available for analysis.

• Data Engineer in Python
• Associate Data Engineer in SQL

Example Project: A data engineer might design a data warehouse that consolidates data from various sources, enabling a company to perform comprehensive analysis on all its data.

4. Statistical Analysis; Applying statistical methods to analyze data and derive actionable insights.

Statisticians and quantitative analysts use statistical techniques to interpret data and make predictions. They often work in fields like finance, healthcare, and research.

• Quantitative Analyst with R

Example Project: A statistician might analyze clinical trial data to determine the efficacy of a new drug, ensuring it meets regulatory standards.

5. Software and Application Development; Developing software applications and tools that facilitate data processing and analysis.

Developers and engineers design and build software solutions that enable efficient data processing, machine learning model deployment, and data storage.

A Python developer might create an application that automates data collection from various APIs, transforming and storing it for analysis.
